Today we drove to Oro Valley which is right outside of Tucson. Warm weather abounds. It was sunny and hot. On the way there we stopped at Tombstone Arizona. It was a place that Rich had wanted to see since he saw the movie when he was a kid. It is tired and commercialized. Nowhere near the Dells but the same type of idea. Moccasins and Indian Jewelry everywhere. We did stop and buy Rich a T-shirt that features John Wayne and the saying Old Guys Rule. We got John one also since he is a big John Wayne fan.
Then we went to Boot Hill. Every western town has a Boot Hill and this was no exception. They have restored it and all I can tell you is that 1882 was not a good year to live in Tombstone. Lots of people died that year in every conceivable way. From getting shot by Indians, from Meningitis, child birth and hanging.
We checked in at our Hotel which was very nice and went to see Rose and Dave. They have a beautiful house. Everything you would expect a southwestern house to look like. They took us for a tour of their area. They have a club house that features everything you could ever possibly want to do. If you wanted or needed something to be involved in this is the place to be. We went out to dinner and we had a really nice time. Rose looks good and her back seems to be coming along. She is going to try a trip to California in a couple of weeks if her Dr. gives her the go ahead.
Dave has not aged a bit. He looks good and even though he doesn't believe it the desert seems to agree with him.
Tomorrow we are headed off to Chandler.
